Born and raised in Matanzas, Cuba, her training includes The Vocational Arts School “Alfonso Perez Isaac” in Matanzas, Cuba, and The National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba. After graduating in 2001, she joined the National Ballet of Cuba under the direction of Alicia Alonso, where she danced from 2001-2003. Since then, Adiarys has danced for Cincinnati Ballet, Corella Ballet, and Boston Ballet. As an international principal guest artist, she has performed with companies worldwide, including many in the United States. She has a Professional Ballet Dancer and Teacher degree from the National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba. Adiarys began teaching based on the Cuban Method when she was 20 years old. "I feel starting to teach at a very young age made me a much better dancer." Ms. Almeida's extensive teaching experience has taken her around the world.
