Grammy-nominated mezzo-soprano Ronnita Miller enjoys a richly varied 2024-2025 season. In the fall, she returns to The Metropolitan Opera, singing the Voice from Above in Die Frau ohne Schatten, and covering Antonia’s Mother in Les contes d’Hoffmann. She appears with the Columbus Symphony for Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, and debuts with Kentucky Opera for the premiere of This Little Light of Mine, portraying the prominent civil and voting rights activist Fanny Lou Hamer.
During the 2023-2024 season, Ms. Miller returned to Lyric Opera of Chicago as the Marquise de Birkenfeld in La fille du régiment, later reprising the role of Ella in performances of X: The Life and Times of Malcom X with Seattle Opera. In concert, she appeared with the Rotterdam Philharmonic on tour for Die Walküre, singing Grimgerde under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
In the summer of 2022, Ronnita Miller sang Schwertleite in Die Walküre with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. She then returned to San Francisco Opera as Filippyevna in Eugene Onegin, before reprising the role of Ella in X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X with Opera Omaha. Later, she returned to Atlanta Opera as Erda in Das Rheingold.
Ms. Miller was member the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin for seven seasons. Performances there included Mamma Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana, Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera ,Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Madelon in Andrea Chenier, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro, Marthe Schwertlein in Faust and Maddalena/Giovanna in Rigoletto.
