Previous Childsplay directing credits include: Rock the Presidents, Wonderland: Alice's Rock and Roll Adventure, Goodnight Moon, Charlotte’s Web, Eric and Elliot, The Neverending Story, and Interrupting Vanessa. He served as Childsplay’s director of production from 1999 - 2019, overseeing over 150 plays and musicals. In 2019, Runfola was appointed artistic director of the Magik Theatre in San Antonio, TX.  He has been a guest artist at theatres and colleges throughout the country including Black Theatre Troupe, Teatro Bravo, Stray Cat Theatre, Phoenix Theatre, Gammage/ASU Public Events, Scottsdale and Mesa Community Colleges, Geva Theatre Center, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. In 2015, he was accepted into the inaugural cohort of ArtEquity. Theatre Communications Group selected him as one of 50 U.S. theatre practitioners to participate in I Am Theatre, a web series celebrating pivotal moments in the lives of theatre-makers. He is an alumnus of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab (’98) and Director’s Lab West (’00).
