Maya Vansuch

Maya Vansuch, soprano, is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was most recently seen with the Dayton Opera as Annina in La Traviata in their 2020-2021 season. Maya was also an Artist-in-Residence with the Dayton Opera for their 2019-2020 season, where she sang as soprano soloist in The Messiah and was seen as Clorinda in La Cenerentola, as well as performing in the opera’s school outreach program. Following her residency, Maya also participated in the DPAA Summer Streams series, performing a recital with pianist John Benjamin, as well as singing in A Celebration from Carillon Historical Park. Other  roles include Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos with the IU Opera Theatre, the title role in Patience with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society. While growing up in Dayton, Maya was a member of the Kettering Children’s Choir, a winner of the 2013 WDPR Young Talent Search, and winner of the 2014 Dayton Opera Guild High School Voice Competition. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University, studying under Alice Hopper.
