Joshua Nemith is Principal Keyboardist of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, a position he has held since 2007.

Dr. Nemith has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral keyboardist. In addition to the DPO, he performs with many other orchestras, including the Iris orchestra (Germantown, TN), Lexington Philharmonic, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and the Columbus Symphony.

An active church musician, he maintains a dual position as music director and accompanist/organist at St. John’s Westminster Union Church in Cincinnati.

Dr. Nemith is involved in many other facets of the local music industry as well: he is a well-established private instructor with over two decades of experience, a frequent judge of area competitions, and as a collaborative pianist, he performs with many artists in live concert as well as in recordings.

He earned a doctorate in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2004. Other accomplishments include fellowships at the Aspen Summer Music Festival and the New World Symphony. Dr. Nemith is an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin and the Eastman School of Music; his teachers include James Tocco, Michael Chertock, Nancy Garrett, Fernando Laires, and David Burge.
