Austin Jaquith

Austin Jaquith is a versatile composer whose work runs the gamut from scoring for visual media to composing instrumental and vocal works in the contemporary classical genre. His music has been featured in the films Adrift (2015) and Christmas Ranch (2016), as well as in a number of shorts. His concert music has been performed by ensembles such as the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Mirari Brass Quintet, the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra, and many others. No stranger to critical acclaim, his music has received awards from the Ohio Music Teachers Association (Distinguished Composer Award, 2015), the American Composers Forum (Earshot Readings Participant), the National Federation of Music Clubs (The Emil and Ruth Bayer Composition Award), Indiana University (The Dean’s Prize in Orchestral Composition), and the University of Houston (The Seraphim Prize). Mr. Jaquith is published by Jeanné, Inc. and Triplo Press, and recently started a publishing venture, Splashed Ink Music, to promote his chamber and large ensemble music. Whether working on a complex chamber work, or a more viscerally-oriented film score, music is his abiding passion.
