Alaina Saliba
Soprano

Dayton native and Lebanese-American soprano Alaina Salibais thrilled to return to her hometown for DPAA’s Hometown Holiday concerts. A 2020 graduate of the University of Dayton, Alaina has since earned her master’s in voice at the Cleveland Institute of Music and performed as a young artist with Westminster Choir College’s CoOPERAtive Program and the Patti and Allan Herbert Program in Salzburg, Austria. Her recent roles and scenesappearancesinclude Ilia inIdomeneo, Elvira inI Puritani, Violetta inLa Traviata, Adina inL'Elisir d'Amore, Frasquita inCarmen, Giulietta inI Capuleti e i Montecchi, and Norina inDon Pasquale. In Spring 2021, Ms. Saliba played First Witch in a film production ofDido and Aeneas,in conjunction with the Cleveland Institute of Music and Akron-based production company Red Point Digital. Her past Dayton credits include years of performances with the Opera Guild of Dayton’s Children’s Traveling Opera as well as guest artist appearances with the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band, Orchestra, and Youth Orchestra. Alaina has earned honors at Ohio NATS competitions, receiving first place in her category in 2019 and second place in 2017. She was selected as a winner of the University of Dayton Honors Recital in 2018, 2019 and 2020. In Spring 2022, Ms. Saliba sang in Cleveland’s Art Song Festival alongside pianist Daniel Overly in Teams Performances and Masterclasses with artists Warren Jones, Craig Terry, Tamara Wilson, and David Portillo.
