Du’Bois A’Keen is a proud husband and father: an accomplished choreographer, producer, published author and filmmaker: a true renaissance spirit. Since 2018 Du’Bois has worked as a writer, producer, and director for Untold Productions. He is the CEO and Creative Director of A’KEEN BRAND (a modern creative agency and production company), Executive Director for Harlem based Non-Profit CrossCreek NYC, Founder of THE TUESDAY THING aka T3 a global net that works; made up of creatives, artists, entrepreneurs, and young business owners from around the globe, and Partner with CALLING ALL CREATORS - an open source creative agency and digital innovation platform rooted in circular and creator economies where; he serves as Director of programs and partnerships working with brands such a NIKE, Adidas, Superdigital and Allbirds. Additionally, Du’Bois is signed to UIA Talent Agency, as an opera Director, writer, producer and Choreographer. He has served on faculty at the prestigious New York University as a Professor of dance teaching Contemporary technique/repertory and Lecturing on Entrepreneurship “The Work of Art” and DEiB in DANCE. His teaching resume extends beyond NYU having worked as a guest artist, educator and lecturer at Arizona State, Brenau University, Irvine College, University of Florida, Gibney Dance and Red Clay Dance Academy.
As a Georgia native and two-time alum of FSU; having earned his BFA in Dance and Master of Science in Entrepreneurship focused on Social and Sustainable Enterprise from the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship: A’Keen began his professional career in NYC primarily working as a dance artist, singer and choreographer: touring, performing as the only male company member of The Bessie Award Winning Urban Bush Women Dance Company Founded by McArthur Genesis Fellow Jawole Zollar. Aside from performing with UBW, during his tenure with the company, Du’Bois also served as Banding and Marketing Strategist. In 2019 he transitioned to expand his work and began to work with several companies as an Executive Consult, Branding Strategist and DEiB Expert: Alex Mill, Heritage Health Career Center, Vitae London, and AhdootWolfson Attorneys to name a few.
When he is not working Du’Bois enjoys the beach, reading and ministry. While he thoroughly enjoys collaborating and working interdisciplinarily across multiple industries and sectors: Faith and Service are core. As a graduate of STS Bible Institute and now Worship Pastor of Cultivate NYC, He has served as a Worship Leader, Music Director, Teacher, and Creative Consultant for the past 10+ years for ministries nationwide. Du’Bois looks forward to continued growth and fulfillment of his God given purpose nationally, alongside his beautiful wife/life partner, Camry Vonyaé A'Keen and daughter.
