What is your favorite thing about the Dayton Ballet?
My favorite thing about Dayton Ballet? It’s hard to choose. Apart from the amazing faculty and dancers, I would have to say it’s the community that surrounds us and supports the Dayton Ballet.
What is your favorite Dayton Ballet memory?
I would have to say my favorite memory at Dayton Ballet would be getting to perform The Great Gatsby. From rehearsal to stage, seeing myself and colleagues take on the iconic dances from the 20’s was so much fun.
What organizations or dancers have you previously danced with?
I previously danced at Ballet Austin in their second company.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
I am very excited to explore the world of Neverland in Septime Webre’s depiction of Peter Pan.
What advice would you give aspiring dancers?
My advice to an aspiring dancer would be to always remember the reason you began this art form. If you ever forget, try and remember the first time you ever saw ballet and cherish that feeling.

Harrison Broadbent began his early training in Concord, New Hampshire at Eastern Ballet Institute under the direction of Brandi Nylen and Douglas Davis. At Age 12, Harrison was accepted into Boston Ballet School’s Pre-Professional Program on full scholarship and later awarded the Laura Young Scholar in 2016. He was then asked to join as a trainee in 2017, under the direction of Margaret Tracey and Peter Stark. Harrison has attended summer programs at Bolshoi, School of American Ballet, and Boston Ballet. In 2019, Harrison joined Ballet Austin’s second company under Stephen Mills, where he performed roles from Stephen Mills’ The Nutcracker as the Nutcracker Prince and Nelly Van Bommel’s Snow White as the prince. Harrison is now beyond excited to be joining Dayton Ballet as a company member for his second season.
