Christina Coletta
Second Cello

Christina Coletta came to the DPO in 1997 and became the Assistant Principal Cellist in 2004.

Christina began her cello studies at the age of 10 in Boardman, Ohio and was a Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma student of Lee Fiser at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).

While a student, she served as the Principal Cellist of the CCM Philharmonia and a soloist with the Starling Chamber Orchestra. Chrissy also attended the Chautauqua Music Festival where she studied with Jeffrey Solow and performed in master classes with Janos Starker and Ralph Kirshbaum.

She has been a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Last season in Dayton, Chrissy performed the Brahms Double Concerto on the DPO’s Symphony Sundaes series.

She is a frequent extra musician with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and performed with the CSO on their most recent European and China tours.

She also has performed with the Amicus Chamber Players and is a member of the Trillium String Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to presenting chamber music in fresh, exciting, and unexpected ways in southwest Ohio.

Christina lives in Cincinnati with her two sons and enjoys knitting, reading, cooking, running (to offset the cooking), and playing Pokemon.
