Choreographer Notes

Causeway draws inspiration from the intricate mirror embedded sculptures of Iranian artist, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian.  She pairs Western Abstraction with Persian cut glass mosaic techniques that reflect, dance, and draw one in.  Causeway is a meditation on the individual and the collective within the cataclysmic events of our world, and the inevitable labyrinthine journey we must dare to take towards oneself and others.

Causeway is dedicated to my late aunt and gifted writer, Nancy Zafris.
