Robert Shollenberger
Violist

Hello, I’m Robert Shollenberger! I live in Saint Meinrad, Indiana, and I am homeschooled. What I love about the EPYO is the authentic orchestral environment and the opportunities to perform and learn alongside the members of the EPO. The chamber group also provides an invaluable experience in a different style of ensemble, helping to develop skills that could be difficult to cultivate in the full orchestra environment. I am grateful to be able to study with my private instructor, Mark Hatlestad, the first viola in the EPO, whom the EPYO recommended. I am also grateful for Dr. Chen and Chaz, who make music fun and enjoyable even at an advanced level.

Next year, I will take a gap year to publish a fantasy novel I am writing. Afterwards, I intend to attend university, majoring in computer science with a minor in music, and hope to take part in the university orchestra or other music groups.
