Dalton Woody
Baritone

     Dalton Woody, a baritone originally from Western North Carolina, received his undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Mars Hill University and his Master’s degree in Opera Performance from the University of Houston. Dalton has appeared in supporting roles with the Asheville Lyric Opera as Action in West Side Story, Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and The Speaker in Die Zauberflöte. While attending the University of Houston, he sang the roles of Francis Nurse in The Crucible, Cosimo in The Inspector, Ali in L’italiana in Algeri, Leandro in The Love for Three Oranges, and Charles Surface in the world premiere of the University of Houston’s Production of The School For Scandal. Dalton has been a featured guest soloist with the Symphony of Southeast Texas. In 2020, Dalton joined Houston Grand Opera as a chorister for their production of Aïda and returned for their 2022 production of Turandot. Dalton has been engaged as an Emerging Artist with Charlottesville Opera in the summers of 2021 and 2022, where he performed the roles of Alcindoro in La Bohème, Franz the Butler and covered Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music and Cascada in The Merry Widow. Fall of 2022, Dalton was with Indianapolis Opera as a resident artist where he performed the role of Sciarrone and covered Scarpia in Tosca. Dalton returned to Indianapolis Opera in the Spring of 2023 where he performed the roles of Vet 1 in the Midwest premiere of Veteran Journeys, Dr. Gregg in Galantry, and The Speaker while covering Papageno in Die Zauberflöte.
