Clay Prindle
Stage Director

Clay is a seasoned theatre enthusiast who has been involved in the field since a young age, with extensive experience in both directing and performing. Since graduating from The University of Southern Indiana, he has directed numerous plays and musicals in local and regional theatres, including notable productions such as Carrie: The Musical, Urinetown, Talk Radio, Bright Star, and Side Show. These experiences helped him build a reputation for creating dynamic and engaging theatre.

Beyond his work in theatre, Clay has made significant contributions in other areas. He worked for the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Indiana, where he developed a troop program tailored for autistic girls and their families. He also served as the Marketing Manager for the Children’s Museum of Evansville, promoting the museum’s events and programs.

Clay spent five years as the director at Harrison High School and a decade leading the Nextwave Educational Program with Evansville Civic Theatre. In these roles, he mentored young actors and nurtured their passion for theatre, helping students develop their skills and deepen their appreciation for the craft.

As a founding member of the Evansville Shakespeare Players, Clay directed their inaugural summer production, The Tempest, providing free classical theatre to the local audience. He also played a key

role in launching the Underground Series at Evansville Civic Theatre, which featured alternative plays and musicals that challenged traditional artistic boundaries.

Clay’s experience performing in various plays and musicals has enriched his directorial approach, blending creativity with practical insights. His contributions to theatre and the community were recognized with his induction into the FJ Reitz High School Theatre Hall of Fame in 2024, highlighting his impact and achievements.

He extends a heartfelt “thank you” to his wife, Samantha, and their daughter, Rosie, for their unwavering support and encouragement. Their belief in his work has been a constant source of inspiration.

Clay remains committed to exploring new ideas in theatre and creating impactful experiences for audiences, continuing to blend his love for both performing and directing.
