George Evans
Harlem Chorus

Performer, George Evans, joined the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus after moving to Evansville in 2023. He is native of Georgia, retiring from teaching choral music in middle school and high school for over 30 years in metro Atlanta, Georgia.  He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, Walden University with a Masters of Science Degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments, and Lincoln Memorial University with a Ed. Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. In addition to his commitment to the Philharmonic Chorus, Mr. Evans works with Children's Theater of Southern Indiana, teaches private voice lessons, and sings with Evansville First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Evans has been instrumental in the development of Georgia Performance Standards, served as a department chair, and county Lead Teacher for General Music instruction.
