Violist Wanlin Cui, born in Harbin, China, is in her third year of DMA, as a teaching fellow in Viola performance at the University of North Texas, studying with Prof. Susan Dubois. With a great passion for music, she started to play violin at age 9, and had been admitted by Renmin University of China to pursue her Bachelor degree in Violin performance from 2012-2016. After that, she decided to transfer from violin to viola, and has been admitted by University of North Texas to start her Master degree in Viola performance with Graduate Viola Performance Scholarship from 2016-2018. As an orchestral player, she serves as section violist in the Abilene Philharmonic, Monroe Symphony, McKinney Philharmonic, and Dallas Bach Society. She has participated in the Eastern Music Festival as an orchestral fellowship in 2018.
