A Prayer for Ukraine

Lord, oh the Great and Almighty,
Protect our beloved Ukraine,
Bless her with freedom and light
Of your holy rays.

With learning and knowledge enlighten
Us, your children small,
In love pure and everlasting
Let us, oh Lord, grow.

We pray, oh Lord Almighty,
Protect our beloved Ukraine,
Grant our people and country
All your kindness and grace.

Bless us with freedom, bless us with wisdom,
Guide us into a kind world,
Bless us, oh Lord, with good fortune
For ever and evermore.

Carol of the Bells
Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells,
All seem to say, “Throw cares away!”
Christmas is here, bringing good cheer
To young and old, meek and the bold.
Ding, dong, ding, dong,
That is their song, with joyful ring, all caroling.
One seems to hear, words of good cheer,
From everywhere, filling the air.
O, how they pound, raising the sound,
O’er hill and dale, telling their tale,
Gaily they ring, while people sing
Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here!
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas!
On, on they send, on without end,
Their joyful tone to every home.
Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells,
All seem to say, “Throw cares away.”
On, on they send, on without end,
Their joyful tone to every home.
Ding, dong, ding, dong.

Ríu, Ríu, Chíu
Ríu, ríu, chíu, la guarda ribera
Dios guardó el lobo de nuestra cordera
Dios guardó el lobo de nuestra cordera.

Riu, riu, chiu, guard us, give us safety.
God has kept the wolf from our ewe lamb,
God has kept the wolf from our ewe lamb

El lobo rabioso la quiso morder.
Mas Dios Poderoso la supo defender.
Quiso la hazer que no pudiese pecar.
Ni aun original esta virgen no tuviera.

The rabid wolf wanted to bite her,
But Almighty God knew how to defend her:
He willed to make her unable to sin,
Not even original sin did this virgin have.

Muchas profeçias lo han profetizado;
Y aun en nuestros dias
Lo hemos alcançado.
A Dios humanado vemos en el suelo.
Y al hombre en el cielo porque el le quisiera.

Many prophets foretold His coming;
Many came to see if it really was the truth.
He was to be God, though human in His visage.
Down to earth He came
To bring love in sacred message.

Mira bien que os cuadre,
Que ansina lo oyera:
Que Dios no pudiera hazerla más que madre;
El quera su Padre hoy della nasçio,
Y el que la crió su hijo se dixera.
Hoy de la nasçió su se dixera.

Look well that you may understand,
That God could do nothing more important
Than make her a mother;
He (Jesus) loved his Father (God)
And also he who raised him as his son.
Today from her is born
His son Jesus, as He (God) called him.

Pues que ya tenemos lo que deseamos
Todos juntos vamos presentes llevemos.
Todos le daremos nuestra voluntad,
Pues a se igualar con el hombre viniera.

Now we have what we desire,
Let us go together to present him gifts.
Let us all give him our will,
For he came as man's equal.

THREE VENEZUELAN CHRISTMAS CAROLS

La Jornada (The Journey)
Din, din, din, es hora de partir,
Din, din, din, camino de Belén.
Los esposos van desde Nazaret.

Din, din, din, it's time to leave,
Din, din, din, on the road to Bethlehem.
The couple is leaving from Nazareth.

La virgen Maria, modesta y sencilla,
Es la maravilla del dichoso Eden.
Los buenos amigos de José y Maria
Llegan a porfia a decirla adiós.

The Virgin Mary, modest and simple,
Is the marvel of blessed Eden.
The good friends of Joseph and Mary
Arrive determined to say goodbye.

Llegan extenuados al  morir el dia
Y en la noche fria no hay donde hospedar.
Y saliendo al campo una gruta encuentran
Y en ella se a dentran para pernoctar.

They arrive exhausted at the closing of the day,
And in the cold night there's no place to stay.
And leaving the fields, they find a grotto
And enter in it to spend the night.

Como Busca El Tierno Infante
(The Tender Infant Is Seeking)
Como busca el tierno infante, afligido y pesaroso,
El descanso y el reposo en el seno maternal,
Así yo, desde que brilla la blanca luz de la aurora,
Vengo a buscar, oh, Señora, tu protección celestial.

As the tender infant, afflicted and sad seeks
Rest and repose in his Mother’s breast,
Thus I, from the time the white light of dawn shines on me,
Come to seek, Oh Lady, Your heavenly protection.

 Cantemos (Let Us Sing)
Cantemos, cantemos gloria al Salvador.
Feliz Noche buena, Feliz Noche buena.
Nos dé el Niño Dios.
Tú eres la esperanza,tú la caridad.
Tú eres el consuelo de la humanidad.

Let us sing, let us sing glory to the Savior.
Happy Christmas Eve, Happy Christmas Eve.
The baby Jesus is given to us.
You are hope, You are charity.
You are the consolation of humanity.

NAVIDAD NUESTRA

La Anunciación (The Annunciation)
Jinete de un rayo rojo,
Viene volando el Ángel Gabriel.
Con sable punta de Estrella,
Espuela’e plata, estaba caté.
Que Díos te salve Maria,
La más bonita cuñatai.
La flor está floreciendo,
Crece en la sangre tu cunumí.
Soy la esclava del Señor,
Que se haga su voluntad.
Capullo que se hace flor
Y se abrirá en Navidad.

Riding a red thunderbolt,
The angel Gabriel comes flying.
With a star-pointed saber,
Silver spurs, he was elegant.
“God Bless you, Mary,
The most beautiful maiden.
The flower is blooming,
In your blood grows your child.”
“I am the servant of the Lord,
Let His will be done.
The bud that becomes a flower
Will blossom on Christmas.”

El Ángel Gabriel ya vuelve
Al pago donde se encuentra Díos.
¿Mamó parehó angelito
Que tan content te vuelves vos?
He visto la reina del mundo,
La más hermosa cuñatai.
Sus ojos son dos estrellas,
Su voz el conta del yerutí.
Soy la esclava del Señor,
Que se haga su voluntad.
Capullo que se hace flor
Y se abrirá en Navidad.

 The angel Gabriel now returns
To where God is waiting.
“Where are you coming from, little angel,
So happy are you to return?”
“I have seen the queen of the world,
The most beautiful maiden.
Her eyes are two stars,
Her voice the song of the dove.”
“I am the servant of the Lord,
Let His will be done.
The bud that becomes a flower
Will blossom on Christmas.”

La Peregrinación (The Pilgrimage)
A la huella, a la huella, José y María.
Por las pampas helados, cardos y ortigas.
A la huella, a la huella, cortando campo.

On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.
Through the icy plains, thistles and nettles.
On the road, on the road, cutting through the plains.

No hay cobíjo ni fonda, sigan andando.
Florecita del campo, clavel del aire,
Si ninguno tealoa, ¿adónde naces?
¿Donde naces, florecita que estás creciendo?
Palomita asustada, grillo sin sueño.

There’s no shelter nor inn, they continue walking.
Little flower of the plains, carnation in the wind,
If no one shelters you, where will you be born?
Where will you be born, little growing flower?
Scared little dove, sleepless cricket.

A la huella, a la huella, los peregrínos.
Prėstenme una tapera para mi niño.
A la huella, a la huella, soles y lunas,
Los ositos de almendra, piel de aceituna.

On the road, on the road, the pilgrims.
“Lend me a shelter for my child.”
On the road, on the road, suns and moons,
Almond eyes, olive skin.

Ay burrito del campo, Ay buey barcino.
Que mi niño ya viene, háganle sitio!
Un ranchito de quincha, solo me ampara,
Dos alientos amigos, la luna clara.
A la huella, a la huella, José y María.
Con un Dios Escondido nadie sabia…
A la huella, a la huella, huellita, José y María.

“Oh, little burro of the plains, Oh, ruddy ox.
My child is coming, make room for him.
A stable of canes is my only protection,
Two kindred souls, the clear moon.”
On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.
With God hidden within her and nobody knew…
On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.

El Nacimiento (The Nativity)
Noche anunciada, noche de amor,
Dios ha nacido, pétalo y flor.
Todo es silencio y serenidad,
Paz a los hombres, es Navidad.
En el pesebre, mi redentor,
Es mensajero de paz y amor.

Night foretold, night of love,
God has been born, petal and flower.
All is quiet and serene,
Peace to mankind, it’s Christmas.
In the manger, my redeemer,
This messenger of peace and love.

Cuando sonrie, se hace la luz
Y en sus bracitos, crece una cruz.
Ángeles cantan sobre el portal
Dios ha nacido, es Navidad.
Esta es la noche que prometió
Dios a los hombres, y ya llegó.
Es Noche Buena, no hay que dormir,
Dios ha nacido, Dios está aquí.

When He smiles, light shines
And in His little arms, a cross grows.
Angels sing over the manger.
God has been born, it’s Christmas.
This is the night God promised
To mankind, and now it is here.
It is Christmas Eve, no one sleeps.
God has been born, God is here!

Los Pastores (The Shepherds)
Vengan pastores del campo,
Que el Rey de los Reyes ha nacido ya.
Vengan antes que amanezca
Que ya apunta el día y la noche se va.

Come shepherds of the field,
The King of kings is born.
Come before dawn,
The day breaks, and the night fades.

Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.
Lleguen de Pinchas y Chuquis,
De Aminga y San Pedro,
De Arauco y Pomán.
Antes que nadie le adore,
Quesillos y flores le vamu a llevar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.
Come from Pinchas and Chuquis,
From Aminga and San Pedro,
From Arauco and Pomán.
Adore Him above all others,
Cheeses and flowers they’ll bring Him.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

Pídanle a Julio Romero
Caballos de paso y su mula de andar.
Con cajas y con guitarras
Iremos cantando por el olivar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

 Ask Julio Romero
For walking horses and his mule.
With drums and guitars
We’ll go singing through the olive grove.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

¡Ay Navidad de Aimogasta!
Aloja y añape no habra de faltar.
Mientras la luna riojana
Se muere de ganas de participar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

Oh, Christmas in Aimogasta,
Carob wine and carob juice will be plentiful,
While the Riojan moon is dying to participate.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

Los Reyes Magos (The Three Kings)
Llegaron ya, los reyes y eran tres
Melchor, Gaspar y el negro Baltasar
Arrope y miel le llevarán
Y un poncho blanco de alpaca real.

They had arrived, the kings, and they were three:
Melchior, Caspar, and the black Balthasar.
Jelly and honey they will bring him
And a white poncho of royal alpaca.

 Changos y chinitas duérmanse
Que ya Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar
Todos los regalos dejarán
Para jugar mañana al despertar.

Fall asleep little boys and girls
So that Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar
Can leave out all the gifts
For you to play with when you wake up tomorrow.

El Niño Dios muy bien lo agradeció
Comió la miel y el poncho lo abrigó
Y fue después que los miró
Y a medianoche el sol relumbró.

The God Child thanked them properly.
He ate the honey, and the poncho kept Him warm.
And it was then He smiled
And the sun shone at midnight.

La Huida (The Flight)
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
Si no te apuras los van a pillar.
Largo el camino, largo el salitral,
Ya tocan a degollar.
Ya está sangrando el puñal.
Si no te apuras los van a pillar.
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
If you don’t hurry, they will get them.
The road is long, the salt flats are large.
They are already calling for the killing,
The dagger is already bloody.
If you don’t hurry, they will get them.
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!

Niño bonito, no lloris mi amor.
Ya llegaremos a tierra major.
Duérmete ya, no lloris,
Cura en mis brazos te haré
Bombos legüeros en mi corazón.
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
Niño borito, no lloris mi amor.
Ya llegaremos a tierra major.
Duérmete Duérmete ya, no lloris,
Cura en mis brazos te haré.

¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Beautiful child, don’t cry my love.
Soon we’ll arrive in a better land.
Go to sleep, don’t cry,
I’ll cradle you in my arms,
Distant drums in my heart.

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!

The Last One to Bethlehem
On a cold winter night,
Ten shepherd boys on a hill by the firelight.
While nine watched the sheep,
Pepito was under a tree, fast asleep.

So when light filled the sky,
And angels announced that the Savior was nigh,
Nine boys went running to hear the good news.
Pepito was tying his shoes.
Don’t be the last one, the last one to Bethlehem.
Then they ran down the hill,
(Merrily the boys are running down the hill),
Followed the star to the town dark and still,
(Bethlehem is sleeping sweetly in the starlight),
All hoping the baby to find.
Pepito was ten steps behind.
He was the last one, the last one to Bethlehem.

The stable was bright,
The poor shepherd boys never saw such a light sight.
They huddled inside,
Pepito stepped forward with eyes open wide.
Maria looked up with a smile:
“Would you like to hold my sweet boy for a while?”
He nodded in wonder and awe.
The other boys could not believe what they saw.
When dawn broke over the hill,
Pepito was there in the stable room still.
He was the last one, the last one to leave Bethlehem.

Shepherds’ Dance

Come all ye shepherds!
Shake off your sleep, shepherds, rise!
Gather your sheep, rub your eyes.
Bring your pipes and bring your drums,
Call to all the shepherds, come!

From the hills and from the shires,
From your huts and warming fires.
Hasten quick, no time to lose.
Bring your pipes and dancing shoes.
Call to all to come and dance!

Follow the light of the star
Leading us on from afar.
Through the streets as in a trance.
Calling us to join the dance!

Come play a tune with rhythm wild.
Frolic round the laughing child.
He will laugh until the morn;
He for whom the dance was born.
Take my hand and join the dance
In the starry night.
Dance ‘til the morning light.
Take my hand and come and join the dance!

MISA CRIOLLA

God the Almighty Father.

Señor, hijo unico Jesucristo,

Tú que quitas los pecados del mundo,
Ten piedad de nosotros.
Tú que quitas los pecados del mundo.
Atiende nuestras súplicas.
Tú que reinas con el Padre,
Ten piedad de nosotros.

Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
You who take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You who take away the sins of the world,
Hear our prayers.
You who reign with the Father,
Have mercy on us.

Credo
Creo en Dios, Padre todopoderoso,
Creador de cielo y tierra.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.

Y en Jesucristo creo,
Su único Hijo nuestro Señor:
Fue concebido por obra y gracia
Del Espíritu Santo,
Nació de Santa Maria Virgen,
Padeció bajo el poder de Poncio Pilato,
Fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado.

And I believe in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord:
Conceived by the power and grace
Of the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Holy Virgin Mary,
Suffered under the power of Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried.

Descendió a los infiernos.
Al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos,
Subió a los cielos.
Esta sentado a la diestra de Dios
Padre todopoderoso.
Desde allí ha de venir a juzgar
Vivos y muertos.

He descended into Hell.
On the third day, He arose from the dead,
And ascended into heaven.
He is seated at the right hand of God
The Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge
The living and the dead.

Creo en el Espíritu Santo,
Santa Iglesia católica,
La communión de los santos
Y el perdón de los pecados,
Resurrección de la carne
Y la vida perdurable. Amén.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of saints
And the forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And the life everlasting. Amen.

Sanctus
Santo, santo, santo,
Señor Dios del Universo.
Llenos están los cielos
Y la tierra de Tu gloria.
Hosanna en las alturas!
Bendito él que viene
En el nombre del Señor.
Hosanna en las alturas!

Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God of the Universe!
Heaven and earth
Are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
In the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Agnus Dei
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Ten compassion de nosotros.
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Ten compassion de nosotros.
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Damos la paz.

Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Grant us peace.

Vuestros hijos de coral
Abondonad y formad un muelle nido
A Jesús recien nacido.
¡Fum, Fum, Fum!

Little birds of the woods,
Fum, Fum, Fum!
Leave your fledglings behind,
And make a comfortable nest
For newborn Jesus.
Fum, Fum, Fum!

Estrellitas de los cielos,
¡Fum, Fum, Fum!
Que a Jesús mirais llorar
Y no lloráis, y no lloráis.
Alumbrad la noche oscura
Con vuestra luz clara y pura,
 ¡Fum, Fum, Fum!

Little stars of the heavens,
Fum, Fum, Fum!
If you see Jesus crying,
Don’t weep, don’t weep.
Light up the dark night
With your clear and pure light.
Fum, Fum, Fum!

Will blossom on Christmas.”

La Peregrinación (The Pilgrimage)
A la huella, a la huella, José y María.
Por las pampas helados, cardos y ortigas.
A la huella, a la huella, cortando campo.

On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.
Through the icy plains, thistles and nettles.
On the road, on the road, cutting through the plains.

No hay cobíjo ni fonda, sigan andando.
Florecita del campo, clavel del aire,
Si ninguno tealoa, ¿adónde naces?
¿Donde naces, florecita que estás creciendo?
Palomita asustada, grillo sin sueño.

There’s no shelter nor inn, they continue walking.
Little flower of the plains, carnation in the wind,
If no one shelters you, where will you be born?
Where will you be born, little growing flower?
Scared little dove, sleepless cricket.

A la huella, a la huella, los peregrínos.
Prėstenme una tapera para mi niño.
A la huella, a la huella, soles y lunas,
Los ositos de almendra, piel de aceituna.

On the road, on the road, the pilgrims.
“Lend me a shelter for my child.”
On the road, on the road, suns and moons,
Almond eyes, olive skin.

Ay burrito del campo, Ay buey barcino.
Que mi niño ya viene, háganle sitio!
Un ranchito de quincha, solo me ampara,
Dos alientos amigos, la luna clara.
A la huella, a la huella, José y María.
Con un Dios Escondido nadie sabia…
A la huella, a la huella, huellita, José y María.

“Oh, little burro of the plains, Oh, ruddy ox.
My child is coming, make room for him.
A stable of canes is my only protection,
Two kindred souls, the clear moon.”
On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.
With God hidden within her and nobody knew…
On the road, on the road, Joseph and Mary.

El Nacimiento (The Nativity)
Noche anunciada, noche de amor,
Dios ha nacido, pétalo y flor.
Todo es silencio y serenidad,
Paz a los hombres, es Navidad.
En el pesebre, mi redentor,
Es mensajero de paz y amor.

Night foretold, night of love,
God has been born, petal and flower.
All is quiet and serene,
Peace to mankind, it’s Christmas.
In the manger, my redeemer,
This messenger of peace and love.

Cuando sonrie, se hace la luz
Y en sus bracitos, crece una cruz.
Ángeles cantan sobre el portal
Dios ha nacido, es Navidad.
Esta es la noche que prometió
Dios a los hombres, y ya llegó.
Es Noche Buena, no hay que dormir,
Dios ha nacido, Dios está aquí.

When He smiles, light shines
And in His little arms, a cross grows.
Angels sing over the manger.
God has been born, it’s Christmas.
This is the night God promised
To mankind, and now it is here.
It is Christmas Eve, no one sleeps.
God has been born, God is here!

Los Pastores (The Shepherds)
Vengan pastores del campo,
Que el Rey de los Reyes ha nacido ya.
Vengan antes que amanezca
Que ya apunta el día y la noche se va.

Come shepherds of the field,
The King of kings is born.
Come before dawn,
The day breaks, and the night fades.

Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.
Lleguen de Pinchas y Chuquis,
De Aminga y San Pedro,
De Arauco y Pomán.
Antes que nadie le adore,
Quesillos y flores le vamu a llevar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.
Come from Pinchas and Chuquis,
From Aminga and San Pedro,
From Arauco and Pomán.
Adore Him above all others,
Cheeses and flowers they’ll bring Him.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

Pídanle a Julio Romero
Caballos de paso y su mula de andar.
Con cajas y con guitarras
Iremos cantando por el olivar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

 Ask Julio Romero
For walking horses and his mule.
With drums and guitars
We’ll go singing through the olive grove.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

¡Ay Navidad de Aimogasta!
Aloja y añape no habra de faltar.
Mientras la luna riojana
Se muere de ganas de participar.
Albahaca y cedrón, tomillo y laurel,
Que el Niño se duerme al amanecer.

Oh, Christmas in Aimogasta,
Carob wine and carob juice will be plentiful,
While the Riojan moon is dying to participate.
Basil and verbena, thyme, and bay leaves,
At dawn the Child falls asleep.

Los Reyes Magos (The Three Kings)
Llegaron ya, los reyes y eran tres
Melchor, Gaspar y el negro Baltasar
Arrope y miel le llevarán
Y un poncho blanco de alpaca real.

They had arrived, the kings, and they were three:
Melchior, Caspar, and the black Balthasar.
Jelly and honey they will bring him
And a white poncho of royal alpaca.

 Changos y chinitas duérmanse
Que ya Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar
Todos los regalos dejarán
Para jugar mañana al despertar.

Fall asleep little boys and girls
So that Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar
Can leave out all the gifts
For you to play with when you wake up tomorrow.

El Niño Dios muy bien lo agradeció
Comió la miel y el poncho lo abrigó
Y fue después que los miró
Y a medianoche el sol relumbró.

The God Child thanked them properly.
He ate the honey, and the poncho kept Him warm.
And it was then He smiled
And the sun shone at midnight.

La Huida (The Flight)
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
Si no te apuras los van a pillar.
Largo el camino, largo el salitral,
Ya tocan a degollar.
Ya está sangrando el puñal.
Si no te apuras los van a pillar.
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
If you don’t hurry, they will get them.
The road is long, the salt flats are large.
They are already calling for the killing,
The dagger is already bloody.
If you don’t hurry, they will get them.
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!

Niño bonito, no lloris mi amor.
Ya llegaremos a tierra major.
Duérmete ya, no lloris,
Cura en mis brazos te haré
Bombos legüeros en mi corazón.
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!
Niño borito, no lloris mi amor.
Ya llegaremos a tierra major.
Duérmete Duérmete ya, no lloris,
Cura en mis brazos te haré.

¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Burrito apurá!

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!
Beautiful child, don’t cry my love.
Soon we’ll arrive in a better land.
Go to sleep, don’t cry,
I’ll cradle you in my arms,
Distant drums in my heart.

Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up little donkey!

The Last One to Bethlehem
On a cold winter night,
Ten shepherd boys on a hill by the firelight.
While nine watched the sheep,
Pepito was under a tree, fast asleep.

So when light filled the sky,
And angels announced that the Savior was nigh,
Nine boys went running to hear the good news.
Pepito was tying his shoes.
Don’t be the last one, the last one to Bethlehem.
Then they ran down the hill,
(Merrily the boys are running down the hill),
Followed the star to the town dark and still,
(Bethlehem is sleeping sweetly in the starlight),
All hoping the baby to find.
Pepito was ten steps behind.
He was the last one, the last one to Bethlehem.

The stable was bright,
The poor shepherd boys never saw such a light sight.
They huddled inside,
Pepito stepped forward with eyes open wide.
Maria looked up with a smile:
“Would you like to hold my sweet boy for a while?”
He nodded in wonder and awe.
The other boys could not believe what they saw.
When dawn broke over the hill,
Pepito was there in the stable room still.
He was the last one, the last one to leave Bethlehem.

Shepherds’ Dance

Come all ye shepherds!
Shake off your sleep, shepherds, rise!
Gather your sheep, rub your eyes.
Bring your pipes and bring your drums,
Call to all the shepherds, come!

From the hills and from the shires,
From your huts and warming fires.
Hasten quick, no time to lose.
Bring your pipes and dancing shoes.
Call to all to come and dance!

Follow the light of the star
Leading us on from afar.
Through the streets as in a trance.
Calling us to join the dance!

Come play a tune with rhythm wild.
Frolic round the laughing child.
He will laugh until the morn;
He for whom the dance was born.
Take my hand and join the dance
In the starry night.
Dance ‘til the morning light.
Take my hand and come and join the dance!

Ten piedad de nosotros.

Ten piedad de nosotros.

Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
You who take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You who take away the sins of the world,
Hear our prayers.
You who reign with the Father,

Credo
Creo en Dios, Padre todopoderoso,
Creador de cielo y tierra.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.

Y en Jesucristo creo,
Su único Hijo nuestro Señor:
Fue concebido por obra y gracia
Del Espíritu Santo,
Nació de Santa Maria Virgen,
Padeció bajo el poder de Poncio Pilato,
Fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado.

And I believe in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord:
Conceived by the power and grace
Of the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Holy Virgin Mary,
Suffered under the power of Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried.

Descendió a los infiernos.
Al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos,
Subió a los cielos.
Esta sentado a la diestra de Dios
Padre todopoderoso.
Desde allí ha de venir a juzgar
Vivos y muertos.

He descended into Hell.
On the third day, He arose from the dead,
And ascended into heaven.
He is seated at the right hand of God
The Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge
The living and the dead.

Creo en el Espíritu Santo,
Santa Iglesia católica,
La communión de los santos
Y el perdón de los pecados,
Resurrección de la carne
Y la vida perdurable. Amén.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of saints
And the forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And the life everlasting. Amen.

Sanctus
Santo, santo, santo,
Señor Dios del Universo.
Llenos están los cielos
Y la tierra de Tu gloria.
Hosanna en las alturas!
Bendito él que viene
En el nombre del Señor.
Hosanna en las alturas!

Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God of the Universe!
Heaven and earth
Are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
In the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Agnus Dei
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Ten compassion de nosotros.
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Ten compassion de nosotros.
Cordero de Dios que quitas
Los pecados del mundo,
Damos la paz.

Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
The sins of the world,
Grant us peace.

On this night so cold.

¡Fum, Fum, Fum!
Vuestros hijos de coral
Abondonad y formad un muelle nido
A Jesús recien nacido.
¡Fum, Fum, Fum!

Little birds of the woods,
Fum, Fum, Fum!
Leave your fledglings behind,
And make a comfortable nest
For newborn Jesus.
Fum, Fum, Fum!

Estrellitas de los cielos,
¡Fum, Fum, Fum!
Que a Jesús mirais llorar
Y no lloráis, y no lloráis.
Alumbrad la noche oscura
Con vuestra luz clara y pura,
 ¡Fum, Fum, Fum!

Little stars of the heavens,
Fum, Fum, Fum!
If you see Jesus crying,
Don’t weep, don’t weep.
Light up the dark night
With your clear and pure light.
Fum, Fum, Fum!
