Violinist Kyle Venlet joined the Knoxville Symphony in October 2019. Formerly, he was Associate Principal 2nd Violin of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra and performed with Midland, Lansing, Battle Creek, West Michigan, and Southwest MI Symphony Orchestras. As a chamber musician, he has enjoyed collaborations with violinist Dmitri Berlinsky and the International Chamber Soloists, Camerata Michigan led by cellist Suren Bagratuni, and as Principal 2nd of Ad Libitum Chamber Group led by former Principal Violist of the Israel Philharmonic, Yuri Gandelsman. He can be heard on the Blue Griffin Label in the album Past Perfect, featuring oboist Jared Hauser and Ad Libitum Chamber Group.
Venlet earned degrees from Central Michigan University and Michigan State University. His teachers include Dmitri Berlinsky, Seunghee Lee, Christopher Martin, Yvonne Lam (Eighth Blackbird) and David Holland (Interlochen Arts Academy). He was a Teaching Artist in the Music for the Sake of Music Festival, coaching chamber ensembles and teaching private lessons in Green Bay, WI, and has performed at the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County, WI under the baton of RuneBergmann.
