Emma Cathey is a senior at Bearden High School. She has been playing the violin for seven years and has been part of the KSYO for six years. She has had the opportunity to participate in the ETSBOA All-East Clinic and Knox County Honors Orchestra. Emma is extremely grateful for the support and direction received from her private teacher Mary Ann Fennell, as well as orchestra conductors Dan Thompson, Karen Russell, and Jacob Boyd. She is very thankful for the community, opportunities, and memories that have been provided by the Bearden High School Orchestra and KSYO. They have been a much-needed constant throughout some difficult times. Emma plans to attend East Tennessee State University in the fall as undecided.
