Kirsten Elena Cogdell McFadden is a graduating senior at Sequoyah High
School in Madisonville, Tennessee. She has been a member of Knoxville
Symphony Youth Orchestra for 3 years where she plays the cello. Currently she
has been taking private lessons under the tutelage of Colleen D’Alelio who has
helped her become a better player overall. Along with playing the cello - she is a
member of the Sequoyah High School band where she plays the mellophone for
marching season and the French Horn for the concert season. She is also an
accomplished pianist who has been playing piano since age 5. Currently she has
been taking private piano lessons under Stephan Riddle of Sweetwater,
Tennessee. Along with her many musical accomplishments - ETSBOA All State
Clinic and Junior Band Clinic, Lee University Honor’ Band, Tennessee Tech
Honor Band, and various piano/cello recitals - she is a member of the St Joseph
the Worker music ensemble. She is also an accomplished artist and has won
several awards for her paintings. This fall she will be a freshman at the University
of Alabama Birmingham where she plans to major in Microbiology/Premed and
minor in Music (piano and cello). Kirsten would like to express her gratitude to
her family, friends and all her teachers who have supported her.
