Julia Mueller is a senior at Hardin Valley Academy. She began teaching herself to play viola 2 years ago, currently studies under Joshua Ulrich, and this is her second season in the KSYO. She loves playing chamber music and is in the KSYO Chamber Music Program and has attended Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Julia is also an accomplished mezzo-soprano and studies voice with Jami Anderson, having attended Governor’s School for the Arts for vocal music as well as All-East and All-State for both orchestra and choir. Outside of her music career, Julia is highly involved with her school and community, serving as President of her church’s youth group and her school’s National Honor Society chapter, as well as participating in Student Council, Mu Alpha Theta, HOSA, and more. She attended ALA Volunteer Girls State in 2025 and will soon earn her Pharmacy Technician certification. This fall, she plans to attend college majoring in viola performance and public policy, as well as continuing to pursue vocal music. She is undecided on where she will enroll, but is interested in Vanderbilt, Brown, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, and Boston Universities. She is passionate about spreading joy through music and making the world a better place and is excited to see where this next chapter takes her!
