Julia Mueller is a senior at Hardin Valley Academy. She began teaching herself to play viola 2 years ago, currently studies under Joshua Ulrich, and this is her second season in the KSYO and the CMP. Julia is also an accomplished mezzo-soprano and studies voice with Jami Anderson, having attended Governor’s School for the Arts for vocal music as well as All-East and All-State for both orchestra and choir. In addition, she has won competitions and had special solo and chamber performance opportunities through the KSYE, including performing at the KSO League luncheon and an KSO Board meeting.  Outside of her (illustrious?) music career, Julia is highly involved with her school and community, serving as President of her church’s youth group and her school’s National Honor Society chapter, as well as participating in Student Council, HOSA, and more. She attended ALA Volunteer Girls State in 2025 and will soon earn her Pharmacy Technician certification. This fall, she plans to attend Duke University majoring in public policy and viola, as well as continuing to pursue vocal music. She is passionate about spreading joy through music and making the world a better place, and is excited to see where this next chapter takes her!
