Helmed as “a vocal standout as Little Bat” by Arts Knoxville in 2023, Cody Boling, tenor is pleased to return to the stage with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. He has had the privilege to perform several opera roles including Peter Quint from The Turn of the Screw, Prunier from La Rondine, Tamino from Die Zauberflöte, and numerous musical theatre roles such as: Franklin Hart in 9 to 5, Feldzeig in The Drowsy Chaperone, Herr Vanderdendur in Candide, Mr. Thenardier in Les Misérables, and the Major General in The Pirates of Penzance. Most recently, Mr. Boling performed the role of Murray in the World Premiere production of Doctor and the Devils by Jason Overall with Marble City Opera. In the Spring, he will make his debut with Mississippi Opera singing the role of Monastos from Die Zauberflöte. Cody holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Currently, Cody is the Adjunct Music Director of Lyric Theatre and Opera at Carson-Newman University.
