Kimberley Parsons-Whitaker
Stage Manager

 is a native of Northwestern CT. She has portrayed leading ladies in opera, including Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Cosí fan Tutte, and The Magic Flute; and Puccini’s La Bohéme and Gianni Schicchi. She has appeared as soprano soloist with over 40 national and regional symphony orchestras; The Mantovani Orchestra tours of North America and Asia; and as The Woman in White with the New Sousa Band. Recent musical theater roles include Barbara Cook in Sondheim on Sondheim, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Nettie Fowler in Carousel, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, as well as Abigail Adams in 1776 right here at Thomaston Opera House. Theater roles include both Abby and Martha Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Juror #8 in 12 Angry Jurors, and Kate Keller in The Miracle Worker, starring Susan Saint James, with the Warner Stage Company. A finalist in the National Opera Association Competition, Kim holds degrees in music from New England Conservatory and Boston University. In her other professional life, Kim works for the State of CT as a Community Development Specialist with the CT Office of the Arts. She dedicates this performance to her dad, Ed Parsons, who portrayed the Stage Manager 19 years ago on this very stage!
