Michael 'Gonzo' Gonsalves
Director

Michael "Gonzo" Gonsalves (Director) is once again amazed that people continue to ask him to do anything other than act and never thought that he'd be writing the bio for his directorial debut. As such, and as with many other things about this entire process, he doesn't really know what to do for this bio but is more than willing to roll with it. Gonzo is no stranger to the stage, beginning acting in 2011, and is certainly no stranger to the backstage life at LCT, showing up as sound effects operator for Christmas Carol in 2020 before graduating to "board operator" in Kinky Boots (I personally don't think I qualified as "sound guy" until Beautiful). I guess now all that's left is to try lighting design to round out the whole "doing a little bit of everything" thing. Except choreography, and you will all thank me someday for the glimmer of self-awareness that prevents me from trying to choreograph anything. Thanks go out Chris Ryan and Jim Williams for always being willing to answer my questions about "how do I..." when I needed to figure out the things nobody tells you about directing - anything I know I've absorbed from working with you. Thanks to Morgan Griffin for keeping me (mostly) sane and tolerating those first few rehearsals of "did I do good?" - now we both deserve a long break. Thanks to Em and Brian for encouraging me to just go for it when I wasn't sure I could. And a special thanks to the entire cast for being willing to come with me as I figured out everything else I never knew that I didn't know.
