T.J. THOMPSON

has been directing musicals from various pits for the last sixteen years. His latest musicals have been Matilda, Cabaret, and The Drowsy Chaperone at The Taft School, Chicago and Mamma Mia at The Forman School, The Stinky Cheese Man at Warner Theatre, Earlene’s Christmas Carol at Seven Angels Theater, and Sound of Music at Landmark Community Theater. He has a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Eastern Illinois University, a M.M. in Composition from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, a M.M. in Education from Columbia University, and has studied baton technique with Maestro Vincent LaSelva at the Juilliard evening division. He taught at St. Johnsbury Academy and Johnson State College in Vermont from 1997-2000 and since has been the instrumental music instructor at the Taft School, in Watertown, Connecticut, where he resides with his wife, two daughters, and two to four cats.
