Inspiration strikes from everywhere, but I find displaying the beauty in the everyday and ordinary to be surprisingly exciting. After being drawn to the bold and loose brushstrokes of other artists and jumping on the Daily Painting movement, I have been learning to let go of perfectionist tendencies and just painting boldly.
Teddi Parker, a Fort Collins based painter, has been painting almost daily since 2014. Her passion for painting started at a young age and was greatly encouraged by her family throughout her early life. With this foundation in place, She began to experiment and learn new techniques over the course of the semester she studied Spanish in Argentina. She is now making up for the lack of formal artistic training and is currently learning how to better evoke emotion through vibrant use of color. What started out simply as a hobby (and a means to cover the empty walls of her friends' apartments) has sprouted into a discovery of the power of beauty through painting. Standing on the knowledge of others mixed with her love for Jesus, Teddi can approach a blank canvas with confidence and not worry about what the opinions of others might be while creating.
