Hometown: Kennesaw, Georgia
Adrienne Carter was born and raised in Kennesaw, GA, where she began her dance training at Impact Dance of Atlanta. During her training, Carter attended summer programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, School of American Ballet and Miami City Ballet School. She moved to Miami in 2008 to train full-time at MCB School and was invited to perform multiple programs with the company as a student. She joined Miami City Ballet as a company apprentice in 2010 and in January 2011 was promoted to the corps de ballet. Carter has danced much of the company’s Balanchine and contemporary repertory, and has had the opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers such as Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky and Liam Scarlett. She is also a frequent guest teacher with Impact Dance of Atlanta.
Carter was promoted to the rank of soloist in 2022.
