Hometown: Waukesha, Wisconsin
Alaina Andersen was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wis. She began her training at Milwaukee Ballet School under the direction of Rolando Yanes. When she was 15, she began training privately with Nadia Thompson for two years. In 2014, she attended the MCB Summer Intensive and was invited to join MCB School’s year-round program that fall. After the summer program, she was also offered an Apprentice position with the Company and since then Andersen has performed with the corps de ballet in several ballets. As a member of the MCB School Ensemble, she also performed principal roles in Western Symphony and Valse Fantaisie. In May 2016 she received the Toby Lerner Ansin Scholarship Award. Andersen joined MCB in 2016 as a corps de ballet member.
