Monique Moore Pryor, Esq., is a transformational executive leader, attorney, and philanthropic strategist with a distinguished record of advancing mission-driven institutions through visionary leadership, strategic partnerships, and innovative fundraising. She currently serves as President of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, where she leads efforts to strengthen one of the nation’s most significant public library systems through philanthropy, civic engagement, and strategic growth. Under her leadership, the Foundation supports nationally recognized programs focused on literacy, education, public programming, workforce development, and equitable access to opportunity.
Prior to her current role, Monique served as the inaugural Executive Director of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation and previously held executive leadership positions, including Chief Engagement & External Affairs Officer, Chief of Staff & Strategic Advisor, and senior advancement leader for diverse educational and nonprofit institutions. A Cornell-trained Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion executive, she is deeply committed to advancing inclusive leadership, community engagement, and institutional transformation.
Recognized for her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style, Monique has extensive experience overseeing organizational operations, external affairs, strategic communications, fundraising, board relations, and cross-functional teams. She possesses a strong understanding of how finance, operations, governance, and public engagement work together to advance institutional mission and long-term sustainability. Throughout her career, she has successfully secured significant public and private investments, cultivated high-impact partnerships, led complex strategic planning initiatives, and guided organizations through growth and transformation.
Monique is particularly known for her ability to connect vision with execution. Her leadership has helped organizations strengthen stakeholder engagement, expand visibility and community impact, increase philanthropic support, and create meaningful partnerships across the corporate, government, nonprofit, and civic sectors. She has also led initiatives focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, helping institutions foster cultures that center access, representation, and opportunity.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Monique is an active civic and community leader. She is involved with numerous organizations and service initiatives, including The Links, Incorporated, Jack and Jill of America, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Mothers and Daughters Making a Difference, which she founded more than a decade ago to empower women and girls through mentorship, service, and leadership development. She also serves on nonprofit and community boards, lending her expertise in governance, fundraising, and strategic growth.
Monique’s personal story reflects resilience, discipline, and achievement. She was selected from more than 100,000 applicants to compete on Season 16 of CBS’s The Amazing Race and has completed two marathons—experiences that reflect the perseverance and determination that define her leadership approach.
She earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and has completed numerous executive leadership and professional development programs throughout her career.
Above all, Monique is a dedicated wife, proud mother of two daughters, and dog mom to her beloved Shih Tzu, Beau.
