The Mann Center Festival Orchestra was formed with the intention and effort to support Philadelphia's local union musicians, many of whom have been out of work for over a year. The ensemble is comprised of members of The Philadelphia Musicians Association, Local 77, professional musicians from some of the region's most critical artistic ensembles – The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Philly Pops, and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.

The formation of this ensemble provides the Mann the flexibility of creating new content that requires world-class orchestral musicians. Additionally, it showcases a cornerstone of the Mann's organizational mission, vision, and values: our commitment to our community and those we serve, through education and community initiatives, supporting creative artistic organizations, and by presenting world-class, diverse entertainment on our stages.
