Elijah Michel (he/him) is a dancer, singer, and storyteller at the intersection of arts and justice, currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida (which yes, IS the South), Elijah graduated from the University of Richmond in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and was the star choreographer and president of Block Crew. He also starred in several UR Theatre and Dance productions including FAME (Ensemble), Miss You Like Hell (Miguel), and of course, Celebration of Dance. Since graduating, Elijah joined the communications team at the Center for Justice Innovation to amplify programs and people investing in justice-impacted communities, ending gun and domestic violence, and accelerating decarceration - while weaving art though his work and life.
