Kevin LaMarr Jones holds degrees from the University of Richmond (B.S.) and Virginia Commonwealth University (B.F.A.). A dancer, choreographer, and designer based in Richmond, Jones is founder of CLAVES UNIDOS, a community-based dance company connecting local and global African Diaspora dance traditions. He teaches Dances of the African Diaspora at UR and has recently presented his ‘Menco Reunion™ approach to Flamenco’ in Brazil and New York. His work celebrates the African dance continuum as rich, diverse, and ever-evolving.
