Guruh Purbo Pramono is a composer and gamelan practitioner who dedicates his work to the development of traditional Javanese music. He is a master of several Javanese musical instruments and traditions. As a faculty member at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Surakarta, his main focus lies in the exploration of dance compositions and traditional shadow theater, which has led him to be active in the local and international performing arts scene. Through the Guruh Se-Balane community and collaboration with Peni Candra Rini, he combines the depth of tradition with musical innovations relevant to the times. Guruh strives to introduce the richness of Javanese musical traditions and innovations to a wider global audience.
