I Gusti PutuSudartais a composer, dancer, puppeteer, musician, and shadow master, from Bedulu Gianyar Village, Bali. As an artist and lecturer at the Theater Department at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Bali, he has taken park in many national and international cultural arts festivals and academic exchanges. Sudartahas taught as a visiting scholar and artist in residence at many universities, and first taught at the University of Richmond 2006, when he co-founded the school’s gamelan ensemble with Dr. Andy McGraw.
