Daniel Sidharta Leibovic is a composer, pianist, and producer based in Richmond, VA. His current works explore electro-acoustic music, voices, chamber pop, non-western traditional music, and sound design. He is particularly drawn toward Indonesian and Jewish musics of his heritage. In 2022, he received the ASCAP Foundation’s Morton Gould Young Composer Award for a work that heavily incorporated Balinese vocal chant. From 2021 to 2023 he was a Young Artist Fellow with DACAMERA. He received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Yale University in 2017, worked as a product manager at Microsoft and Palantir Technologies from 2016 to 2018, and received a Master of Music degree in Composition at Rice University in 2023.
