Lacy Sachsenmaier is a first-year from Colorado Springs, CO, where she has been dancing since she was five years old. At Turning Pointe School of Dance, Lacy trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. She is continuing her study of dance as a member of the University Dancers and intends to minor in dance. In the past year, she has discovered a growing love for choreographing and is delighted to share that love with a new community.

This piece started in my kitchen as an idea I probably wouldn't ever get to stage. A few months and eleven amazing dancers later, I'm honored it has found a place in this vivid celebration. This piece aims to capture the feeling of starting something new and scary and exciting, the feeling of being both daunted and hopeful - and all of this happening alongside others feeling the same things. It was important to me to use an all-first-year cast, allowing us to commemorate this unique season together. This piece is a celebration of being at the beginning of something, and getting to begin in community. Thank you to my incredible cast and shout out class of 2030!
