Alexandra Loutsion

Hailed as "fearless" (Opera News) and “masterful” (Tulsa World) with a “commanding presence" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette), Alexandra Loutsion continues to be recognized for her passionate performances and vocal versatility as a rising star on the operatic stage. In the 24/25 season, she joins the roster of The Metropolitan Opera to cover the title role in Aida. Additional engagements include returns to Virginia Opera for Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira), Dallas Symphony Orchestra for Die Walküre (Gerhilde and Sieglinde cover), Washington National Opera for Macbeth (Lady Macbeth cover), and Lyric Opera of Kansas City to cover the title role in Turandot

On the concert stage, Ms. Loutsion has sung the soprano solos in the Verdi Messa da Requiem with the Santa Fe Symphony and the Academy Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh; Beethoven Symphony No. 9 with the Cathedral Choral Society, West Virginia Symphony, Syracuse Symphoria, Erie Philharmonic; and Hadyn Mass in Time of War with the Cathedral Choral Society of Washington D.C. She recently made her debut with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in Die Walküre (Gerhilde) under Fabio Luisi and Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra for Act II of Tristan und Isolde (Isolde).

Recent returns include Tosca (title role) with Palm Beach Opera, The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess) with The Glimmerglass Festival, Fidelio (Leonore) with Austin Opera, Elektra (Overseer) with The Dallas Opera, Siegfried (Brünnhilde) with Virginia Opera, Die Walküre (Brünnhilde) with Virginia Opera and Opera Santa Barbara, Il trovatore (Leonora) and Florencia en el Amazonas (title role) with Pittsburgh Opera, Salome (title role) with Bard’s The Orchestra Now, and Il trovatore (Leonora) with Central City Opera. 

Ms. Loutsion has made house debuts at San Francisco Opera and Washington National Opera for Elektra (Overseer), Lyric Opera of Chicago in Twilight Gods (Brünnhilde), Lyric Opera of Kansas City for The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess), Minnesota Opera in Elektra (title role), New Orleans Opera in Turandot (title role), and Opera Idaho for Macbeth (Lady Macbeth). She made her international debut with the Canadian Opera Company in Elektra (Overseer).
