Brennan Martinez
Soprano

Brennan Martinez (she/her) is a dynamic mezzo-soprano praised for her “power, authority, and a most intriguing color to her wide-ranging voice” (Classical Voice of North Carolina) and recognized by Opera Lively as “a mezzo-soprano to be watched.”

Last season, Ms. Martinez made her Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre debut as Lily Craven in The Secret Garden, earning a Jeff Award nomination for her performance and of her Aldonza (Man of La Mancha) with Piedmont Opera, Cultural Voice of North Carolina said “Mezzo-soprano Brennan Martinez masterfully sings and acts the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea...in a lush voice that rips with its intensity.”

Recent engagements include roles with Wichita Grand Opera (West Side Story in Concert, Anita), Milwaukee Opera Theatre (Rusalka, Third Nymph), Opera Montana and Chautauqua Opera Company (Hansel and Gretel, Hansel), and Opera Saratoga (A Mass for Women in Bathrooms, Bríd). She has also appeared with Cedar Rapids Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, Brew City Opera, Chicago Fringe Opera, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.

Ms. Martinez received her training at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a Fletcher Fellow, and at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University.
