Elliana Kang
Violin | Winner, 2026 Philharmonia Concerto Competition
Elliana Kang is a sixth grader at Whitefish Bay Middle School and has been a part of MYSO since 2023. She’s had the privilege of serving as concertmaster for MYSO’s String Orchestra North, Sinfonia, and Philharmonia, where she’s built both leadership and teamwork skills.

Elliana made her solo orchestral debut at age ten with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra as winner of the 2024 String Orchestra Concerto Competition and has also soloed with MYSO ensembles in 2025 and 2026, making her a three-time concerto competition winner. In addition, Elliana has been a winner of the 2025 and 2026 Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Bach Double Competition and has been nominated for the 2026 WSMA Exemplary Solo Performance Recognition.

Elliana started her violin journey at age seven and currently studies with Jamie Hofman at the UWM String Academy. In addition, she has participated in MYSO’s Summer Chamber Conference in 2024 and 2025, along with masterclasses led by violinists Julian Rhee and Mimi Zweig, which have helped her grow as both a soloist and ensemble player.

Elliana is incredibly grateful for her teacher, family, friends, and the many people whose support continues to inspire and encourage her as she works to grow as a musician. Above all, she is excited to continue her growth as a musician and looks forward to sharing her love for music with others for many years to come.
