Magdalena Masur is fourteen years old and an eighth grader at Bayside Middle School. The oldest of three siblings, she started playing violin at the age of five. Besides playing in MYSO, she is a participant in the Advanced Chamber Music Institute at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and currently studies violin with Alexander Mandl. In her free time, Magdalena enjoys baking and horseback riding. She is thankful for the opportunity to play the Bruch concerto with the Metropolitan Orchestra and conductor John Emanuelson. This is one of Magdalena’s favorite pieces by Max Bruch and one of her favorite violin concertos of the romantic era.
