Clark Snavely, Violin
2022 Senior Symphony Concerto Competition Winner

Clark Snavely, 16, is a homeschooled sophomore from New Berlin. He studies violin with Pamela Simmons and Almita Vamos.

At the age of 13, Clark performed as a soloist with the Madison Symphony as the 2019 Youth Concerto Competition winner. Just last month, in April of 2022, Clark returned to Overture Hall to once again solo with the Madison Symphony as a finalist in the Bolz Young Artist Competition, which was broadcast live on PBS Wisconsin and Wisconsin Public Radio. He took second place and was the winner of the Steenbock Youth Music Award. In May of 2022 Clark appeared as soloist in the Bradley Symphony Center with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as a finalist in the Stars of Tomorrow Auditions.

This is Clark’s sixth year performing with MYSO. He is currently a concertmaster of the Senior Symphony and concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra.  He also participates in MYSO’s Chamber Ensemble program, where the past few years he has had the privilege of being coached by the former Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Frank Almond. This past summer Clark attended the Madeline Island Chamber Music Program and Interlochen Arts Camp. At Interlochen, Clark was concertmaster of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra, an Orchestral Scholar recipient, a member of Interlochen’s Advanced String Quartet Program. This summer Clark plans to attend the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine.

Clark would like to thank Pamela Simmons for being such an amazing, caring and supportive teacher, Carter Simmons for his mentorship and positive example, and Scott Sleider for his mentorship and artistry.
