Sal Stein is a talented and accomplished musician with a passion for violin and piano. His journey in music began at the age of five with violin studies. Currently a freshman at Homestead High School, Sal has demonstrated a remarkable dedication to their musical education and development. His musical studies have taken them across various institutions and programs, including Suzuki Violin at Stamford American School in Singapore and the Trinity College of London Curriculum.
Notable among Sal's achievements is their participation in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) since 2019, where they have been an integral member of several orchestras, including Sinfonia, Philharmonia, Metropolitan, and currently, the Senior Symphony. His involvement in MYSO has provided them with invaluable performance experience and opportunities to showcase his talent.
Sal's musical abilities extend beyond performance, as evidenced by their participation in the John Downey Composition Project. His compositions have been recognized and performed, with one scheduled for performance in 2024. Additionally, Sal has received accolades in competitions such as the MSO Stars of Tomorrow (semifinalist), MYSO's Metropolitan Symphony (runner-up in 2023), Senior Symphony Concerto Competition in 2024, and the Wisconsin School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Festival.
In addition to their violin studies, Sal is also actively engaged in piano studies at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, where they continue to explore and refine their musical abilities under the guidance of Stefanie Jacob.
