Violinist/violist and MYSO alum Cecelia Santiago was a member of MYSO's orchestras for seven years, during which she was named a concerto competition winner four times and participated in chamber music ensembles yearly. Cece has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as a Bach Double competition winner and was a semifinalist in the MSO Stars of Tomorrow Competition in 2019, 2020, and 2021. She performed as concertmaster in the 2019 Stars of Tomorrow concert. Cece has earned WSMA’s State Solo and Ensemble Festival Exemplary Performance Recognition three times and won Young Artist Scholarships from the Civic Music Association in 2020 and 2021.
Cece is a former student of Pamela Simmons. She is currently studying violin with Professor David Bowlin at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at the College.
During her free time, Cece enjoys reading music with friends, crafts, and spending time outdoors hiking and birdwatching.
