Prelude Orchestra Coach Constance Aguocha, a violinist and violin teacher, is a native of Houston, Texas and a first generation Nigerian-American. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University, as well as a Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Washington.
Constance is currently on the violin faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and teaches general music education in the Milwaukee Public School District as part of the Wisconsin Conservatory's Community Partnership program. Additionally, Constance has been involved in outreach programs through the Rockford Symphony, and has a violin studio through the White House of Music.
An active violinist, Constance has been very involved in the music scenes of Wisconsin and Illinois since moving to Milwaukee in 2022. She currently plays with the Rockford Symphony, the Peoria Symphony, the Racine Symphony, the Wisconsin Philharmonic, and the Sheboygan Symphony. Constance is also the Racine Symphony's librarian, and the former Assistant Personnel Manager of the Milwaukee Symphony. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Constance also performed with the Sound Ensemble in Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, and the Northwest Symphony.
Constance believes that every student is teachable and capable of greatness. She prides herself on instilling a sense of discipline in her students, and leading with an emphasis on empathy and encouragement.
Outside of music, Constance enjoys knitting, reading, cooking, and exploring!
