Guest Artist Lulu Altman has been studying vocal performance for eleven years and has been working with Jenny Gettel at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music for the past five. She loves Broadway musicals, pulling from artists such as Patti LuPone and Donna Murphy for inspiration when she performs. She is a graduate of Kradwell School in Wauwatosa and plans to attend MATC in the music occupations program in fall of 2024. She won a scholarship to attend the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in 2021, and frequently enters in vocal competitions.
Outside of music, Lulu loves the visual arts and creates works in a variety of mediums including hyper realistic pencil sketches, digital art, sculpting, and jewelry, as well as theatrical wig design.
Lulu would like to thank her family for their support as she works on accomplishing her dream career in the arts. With a special thank you to her grandmother, Joyce Altman, who was instrumental in helping Lulu succeed in her music. Grandma Joyce is greatly missed but will be remembered through Lulu’s music.
She would also like to thank her mom and stepdad, Brian, for staying by her side and helping her to pull through difficult moments. Mom and Brian have helped her through the lowest of the lows and still made room for smiles, laughter, and root beer, which became a thing when she was in the hospital. Her mom gives the best hugs, always showing Lulu support when she needs it most and stepping up to the hardest tasks. Whose mom became an at-home nurse overnight? Lulu’s mom. A real-life superhero! Finally, Lulu would like to thank Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin for giving her hope and resilience to keep pushing through each day.
