Connor Rossi is a 17-year-old pianist who has been home schooled since the first grade. He has been studying piano for 12 years, most of which have been under the careful supervision and informative wisdom of his piano teacher, Lisa Mihas, and his bassist father, Anthony. Most of Connor’s early performances have been his piano recitals, wherein he played the songs of classical composers such as Chopin and Rachmaninoff from memory. He played for 2 ½ years at the Shorewood School of Rock, a musical educational facility that exposes children to various eras of rock music and gives them opportunities to play in front of live audiences. Through SoR, Connor has performed at Summerfest alongside peers and in open environments. During his first years at MYSO, Connor learned the intricacies of jazz under the electrifying Neil Davis, and it is within this framework, combined with the versatile patience of the encouraging Jeno Somlai, that Connor has written his jaunty composition, NPC Vibes.
Connor hopes that you will enjoy his piece, and think of it whenever you are experiencing its inspiration: that feeling you get when you feel like you’re talking to a robot, in the virtual world or in real life.
