Colette Wiering, Violin
Winner, 2024 Metropolitan Symphony Concerto Competition
Seventh grade violinist Colette Wiering is now in her third year with MYSO. She thinks that MYSO has been very helpful with opportunities to play concertos with an orchestra and make friends through music. She loves playing in MYSO's chamber ensemble program and is grateful for coach Frank Almond. A highlight of this year has been playing baroque music with MYSO's Bach Ensemble at Milwaukee's Bach Fest.

Colette also enjoys playing piano, which she studies with her sister Stella O'Neill. In addition, she also enjoys reading books, crafting, and caring for her animals, including a rooster named Odysseus.

Colette would like thank her violin teacher Matous Michal and Music Director Jonathan Winkle for rehearsing and directing Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriciosso.
