Jordan Ford, Youth Orchestra Manager for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, has been a violinist for many years, enjoying decades of performing with youth orchestras and professional ensembles throughout the Southeast. Through her position with the ASO, Mrs. Ford works with the student musicians of the ASYO weekly, providing communication and organization for the orchestra. Mrs. Ford also works with other ASO professionals to advocate for the ASYO and its development. An active teacher and director, Mrs. Ford is also the current Director of Orchestras for Alabaster City Schools. Managing a growing program of over 90 students, Mrs. Ford has taken student musicians to perform at venues such as the Alabama State Capitol rotunda, the Alabama Music Educators Association Conference, Music in the Parks competitions, and much more. Alabaster City Schools Orchestras consistently score superior at annual state assessments and are continuing to grow orchestral music in the Alabaster community. Mrs. Ford is also the President of the Alabama Orchestra Association, working with other music educators in the state to support orchestral music through events like All-State Orchestra, Honors Orchestras, and Music Performance Assessment. Mrs. Ford is honored to be given the privilege of directing the ASYO musicians for the holiday concert this year!
