In 2024, Boyu Li represented Indiana University on the international stage as a member of the winning quartet in a cultural exchange project with the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MUK) in Vienna. This prestigious collaboration highlighted both artistic excellence and the power of cross-cultural dialogue through music.
That same summer, Boyu served as Associate Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin of the Tanglewood Music Festival Orchestra, performing under the batons of Alan Gilbert and Andris Nelsons. Appearances at both Seiji Ozawa Hall and the renowned Tanglewood Shed offered him the opportunity to perform within one of the world’s most celebrated summer festivals.
Earlier in 2024, Boyu appeared as Concertmaster of the Boston University Orchestra in a performance led by James Burton at Boston Symphony Hall, bringing leadership and artistry to one of Boston’s most iconic concert stages.
In Birmingham, Alabama, Boyu has held key leadership positions with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, performing as Associate Concertmaster and Concertmaster under the direction of Carlos Izcaray, Chris Confessore, and Daniel Cho. These performances have spanned both the core classical repertoire and lively pops concerts, reaching audiences across the region in a variety of venues.
Looking ahead, Boyu has been invited to join the teaching faculty of the Shanghai Manhattan Music FestivIndiana University Bloomington, Jacobs School of Music, Bachelor of Music. Yale School of Music, Master of Music, Boston University,Doctor of Music of Arts (Currently pursuing)al in 2025, further extending his artistic influence by mentoring the next generation of musicians on an international platform.
